/* ############### ACCOUNTABILITY ############### */ ?>
To achieve our mission and goals, the University of Iowa Center for Advancement must earn and maintain the trust of donors, alumni, and friends of the University of Iowa. We are committed to transparency and accountability. Please feel free to contact us at 1-800-648-6973 if you have any questions about the following information.
Note: The UI Center for Advancement is currently upgrading our communications and records platform. During this time, we will continue to receive and deposit gifts; however, we are not able to post gift information to donor records until we are live in our new system, which is expected to be in late September. Once the new system is live, we will post all gifts that have arrived during this time. There may be a delay in receiving your gift receipt and acknowledgement. In the meantime, we advise you to check with your financial institution (bank, stock account, etc.) for confirmation of the transfer of your gift. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these improvements.

The State University of Iowa Foundation was formed as an Iowa nonprofit corporation in 1957 and, shortly thereafter, deemed exempt from federal income tax under the provisions of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our organization is independently governed by a volunteer board of directors and structured legally separate from the University of Iowa. To ensure adequate separateness and governance, our two entities have entered into a Development Services Agreement to define each entity’s role and to outline the relationship. On January 1, 2018, the State University of Iowa Foundation and the State University of Iowa Alumni Association agreed to merge. As part of the merger agreement, the name University of Iowa Center for Advancement was selected as the operational or “fictitious name” to be used in the course of business going forward to reflect the combined mission of the merged organization. The overall corporate structure and nature of our organization as a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, publicly supported chartable entity was not impacted by the merge.
